Job description

In today’s fast-growing nanosatellite market, ISISPACE is looking for an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer. This is a comprehensive role covering a wide range of simulations like, (quasi) static, dynamic, vibration, and fatigue. You will be leading structural integrity assessments of nanosatellites and associated equipment. Working alongside our mechanical, thermal and CAD engineers, you will guide them where necessary to help ensure the team deliver high performing solutions for space.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Creation of FEM models and perform various types of analysis including static or quasi static, frequency, buckling, mode-based steady-state or transient dynamic, random response, and non-linear dynamic.

  • Fatigue simulation that can predict accurate fatigue lives to ensure our systems are designed for durability, and extend ordinary stress analysis to provide estimates of the lifecycle for components subjected to cyclic loads.

  • Identify failure scenarios, potential for performance improvements and propose design changes.

  • Performing structural optimization activities.

  • Participation in peer review meetings.

  • Collaborate with the testing team to define tests and instrumentation.

Job requirements

  • Degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a structural engineering role

  • Experience with a FEM package, preferably NASTRAN / FEMAP.

  • Knowledge or experience of working with space systems.

  • A strong understanding of testing and validation best practices.

  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, vibration theory and microvibrations.

  • Energetic team player with a positive and open mindset within an international and multicultural environment.

  • Excellent and straightforward communication skills.

  • A strategic and analytical mind.

  • A solution-driven work ethic.

Why should you join us?

We bring together a team of dedicated people from all over the world that are fun and pleasant to work with. We are a very down to earth organization while at the same time being a global leader in the field of nanosatellites.

We greatly encourage new ideas and are open to suggestions from all employees on how to make ISISPACE a better company. Depending on your own interest and qualifications, you can have a career in technology, either as a specialist or a generalist. Alternatively, there are opportunities in a managerial or project management role.
