Job description

The System AIT team at ISISPACE specializes in the the assembly, integration, testing, and verification of satellites and their subsystems. To streamline operations, monitoring, and testing automation, the team uses an in-house developed central software suite. This software integrates integrates with a wide range of equipment, enabling the simulation of space environments, real-time telemetry processing, and command execution.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to take ownership of this software, maintaining and enhancing it to support both current and next-generation satellite system testing. The goal is to develop a highly adaptable software suite capable of automating a broad spectrum of test cases.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Enhance and expand the functionality of the existing software to support both current and next-generation satellite platforms.

  • Take ownership of the software, gradually becoming its primary maintainer and product owner.

  • Develop and implement automation features to streamline the production and testing of satellites and subsystems.

  • Support and execute satellite test campaigns, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

  • Provide assistance to internal and external users of the software suite, ensuring optimal utilization and troubleshooting.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of proven experience with software development in Python.

  • Practical, hands-on experience with CAN-TS, UART, and I2C protocols.

  • Energetic team player with a positive, open mindset and excellent English communication skills.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and a solution-driven work ethic.

Nice to haves (any of):

  • Experience with satellite operational concepts or embedded system development.

  • Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for software development.

  • Experience with GUI development in Python (preferably Qt).

  • Knowledge of network concepts, programming, or databases (relational/time-series).

  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and issue tracking systems (GitLab).

  • Interest in the space industry and ability to write technical documentation.
