Job description

As System Assembly, Integration, and Test (SAIT) Software Engineer you will join the Mission Solutions & Engineering department, and contribute to the design, development, and verification of software used for the pre-launch testing and validation of our satellites and space systems. You will wield the power of Python to automate the boring stuff and accelerate development and testing of hardware, from single modules to full satellite stacks.


Primarily you will contribute to our in-house software suite that is used to assist with development and functional verification of subsystem and system flight software. This includes development of new features, mission-specific support, and general user support. In this role, you will work closely together with the various disciplines within the company.


Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Design, development, and verification of the SAIT software for nanosatellites.
  • Provide support for SAIT software users.
  • Writing technical documentation such as requirements specification, test procedures, software, and system documentation.

Job requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Aerospace, or equivalent subject.
  • Proven experience in Python (private projects, internships, theses, work).
  • Experience with Git and Gitlab.
  • Ability to work independently and flexible with your working times when the job requires it.
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Energetic team player with a positive and open mindset.
  • Excellent and straightforward communication skills (with proficiency in English).
  • A great sense of responsibility and commitment.
  • A strategic and analytical mind.


Bonus point if you also bring:

  • Experience with microcontrollers and associated IDEs.
  • Experience with data-interface standards: I2C, UART, SPI.
  • Experience with CAN bus protocol.
  • Experience or affinity with test-driven development.
  • Knowledge of C, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience in working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes.
