SAIT Engineer - medior
- Hybrid
- Delft, Netherlands
- Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Testing
- 32 - 40 hours
Job description
As a SAIT Engineer (System/Satellite Assembly, Integration & Test), you are responsible for bringing satellite (sub)systems together into a verified, flight-ready configuration. You combine practical integration work with engineering judgement: you prepare AIT flows, execute and oversee integration and test activities, and make sure results are properly documented and traceable to requirements.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, production and verification. You work closely with subsystem engineers, project leads and technicians to plan the work, prevent issues early, and solve anomalies efficiently when they occur.
In this position, you typically:
Prepare and coordinate AIT activities for satellite (sub)systems, including task sequencing, test readiness and practical planning.
Support (and where needed lead) assembly and integration activities, ensuring interfaces are correct and workmanship is consistent.
Execute and/or coordinate functional and performance testing, interpret results, and ensure proper reporting and traceability.
Troubleshoot anomalies during integration and test, drive root-cause investigation with engineers, and verify fixes.
Maintain and improve AIT procedures and documentation, keeping everything aligned with the “as-built” configuration.
Contribute to continuous improvement in the lab/cleanroom way-of-working (tools, checklists, test setups, lessons learned).
Job requirements
Experience in AIT / integration & test in a high-tech environment (aerospace, mechatronics, electronics, complex system integration).
Strong practical mindset combined with solid documentation discipline (you write things down clearly and consistently).
Confidence in working with technical documentation (drawings, schematics, test procedures) and collaborating across disciplines.
A proactive attitude: you flag risks early, coordinate well, and keep progress moving without compromising quality.
