Job description

In the fast-growing small satellite market, we are looking for a project manager to strengthen the R&D department. You will be involved in technology development projects for smallsat systems. This can be both satellite- and ground-based equipment. In this international and dedicated team, you are responsible for the success of the project, and for coordinating teams at every stage of the project life-cycle. You work closely together with engineers, partners, and stakeholders, to deliver on time, within scope and within budget, balancing between technical- and stakeholder management.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Setting up and controlling the planning, milestones, costs, and scope (including making reports).
  • Managing day-to-day aspects of the projects.
  • Coordinating and managing internal resources and third parties/vendors on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining the relationship with the applicable stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Facilitating the development of the R&D roadmap.

Job requirements

  • You have a degree in a relevant subject.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in project management for complex technical systems (preferably hardware and software combinations).
  • You have an understanding of research projects and the uncertainty that can come with it.
  • Excellent and straightforward communication skills and the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand language.
  • Energetic team player with a positive and open mindset
  • A solution-driven work ethic.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in space project management, specifically in small satellite projects
  • IPMA, PMBOK or PRINCE II certification.
  • Experienced and willing to contribute to proposals/tenders.
