Job description

In this role you are part of the TANGO project team and your focus lies on managing PA requirements during design, development, manufacturing and testing phases of the TANGO mission. You may perform internal audits and where applicable you will define process improvements to be applicable cross-departments. Within the TANGO project team, you will be performing design reviews, risk and FMEA analysis, configuration management and the management of non-conformities and the associated reports to both internal and external parties. You may perform external audits at our different suppliers for both mechanical and electrical parts based on our specific needs.

Specific tasks on TANGO program:

  • Preparing and implementing TANGO project-specific PA requirements based on the applicable product and quality assurance baseline.

  • Monitoring and reporting of TANGO PA&S program execution to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

  • Contributing to management and technical boards relating to the execution and review of TANGO PA&S program with the other partners in the Consortium.

  • Support TANGO Risk Management both internally to the Program and towards the customer (e.g. recommend acceptance of the risks to the customer, once the action plan is established; for non-accepted risks, regularly reassess and re-evaluate the risks and monitor their status and evolution).

  • Plan and manage the TANGO PA program and dedicated supports (quality assurance, dependability, safety, software QA, cleanliness and contamination, EEE, parts, materials and processes) necessary to accomplish the project PA work and to meet dedicated development phases.

  • Coordinate and liaise activities with PA managers from Consortium Partners.

  • Establish and maintain an updated OTS item list as well as consolidated Critical Items List.

  • Ensure PA requirements (as per SoC to PARD) are properly cascaded and implemented to all levels.

  • Derive a TANGO contamination control plan together with the relevant engineers and SAIT team.

  • Provide support to system and AIT teams to identify the protections needed during AIT of Platform and S/S breadboards, EQMs and FlatSAT till PFM.

  • Provide materials and process inputs to Critical Items List and Risk Analysis (items needing qualification and needing evaluation for radiation sensitiveness).

  • Review and agree parts procurement policy/program, as described in components control plan part of PA plan, and in PA requirements for subcontractors.

  • Establish and maintain a EEE parts policy consistency and conformance.

Other tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain and improve the QMS based on process quality audits and internal audits.

  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure that compliance to requirements is secured and correctly documented.

  • Audit and monitoring of current suppliers, and future candidate suppliers.

  • Chair Non-Conformance Boards including planning, preparing and executing, reporting of the results and follow up to ensure closure of non-conformities.

  • Perform risk analysis, FMEA analysis and design reviews for both projects and production items.

  • Review project documentation to ensure compliance to quality requirements.

Job requirements

  • A MSc. in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 year experience in a quality role within a space project context.

  • Solid understanding of industry standards such as ECSS and/or comparable standards (ISO, AS&D).

  • Experienced in Space Quality Standards and their preparation and implementation

  • Experience in Quality Engineering principles, tools and methods.

  • Familiar with environmental testing and able to help define and improve test plans would be a plus.

  • Familiar with IPC standard would be a plus.

  • Understanding of related technologies, R&D trends and familiarity with the industrial landscape.

  • Experience in the management and monitoring of industrial activities, including participation as an expert in project corporate reviews

  • Energetic team player with a positive mindset and excellent communication skills.

  • A great sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

  • Success oriented and going the extra mile if needed.

  • Proficient in English (speaking / reading / writing).

  • Experience in quality auditing or assessor certification is considered an asset
