In the fast-growing small satellite market, ISISPACE is looking for a motivated Labs and Technical Facilities Manager. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operation of our development and production laboratories, cleanroom, and environmental test facilities. You will act as the first point of contact for the safe use and management of hazardous materials. You will also be responsible for managing the test equipment pool, coordinating staff training, and ensuring the maintenance and calibration of equipment and facilities.

In addition, you may support project teams during test execution, coordinate access to external technical facilities, and contribute to long-term planning for future facility investments. This role requires close collaboration with ISISPACE’s engineering teams, technician teams, and lab coordinators. ISISPACE currently operates from two manufacturing locations in the Netherlands, with the main site located in Delft.

Your main responsibilities

As Labs and Technical Facilities Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the validation, repair, and scheduled maintenance of cleanrooms, test facilities, and equipment at both main and external sites.

  • Managing user planning for cleanrooms and test facilities.

  • Coordinating change requests, development, maintenance, and supply needs for laboratories and technical facilities.

  • Developing and maintaining policies for calibration, maintenance, and proper use of laboratories, technical facilities, cleanrooms, and environmental test equipment.

  • Implementing the RI&E (Risk Assessment & Evaluation) related to laboratory and facilities activities.

  • Managing the equipment pool and supporting users.

  • Reviewing and registering the use of hazardous materials, and developing related policies where needed.

  • Organising cleanroom and ESD lab training.

  • Contributing to equipment and facility investment plans.

  • Supporting test setup development and test automation activities.

For all coordinating activities, you will work closely with the lab coordinators.

Job requirements

What we are looking for

For this position, we are looking for someone with a solid technical background, strong organisational skills, and a hands-on mindset. You are able to work independently, while also coordinating small project teams when changes or improvements need to be implemented.

You should bring:

  • A BEng / HBO degree in a relevant technical field.

  • 3–5 years of working experience in an R&D environment, high-tech development environment, or small-series production industry.

  • Experience with hardware, measurement equipment, and technical facilities.

  • Experience with basic servicing of electronic or technical equipment.

  • A good understanding of the fundamentals of calibration and measurement uncertainties.

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

  • The ability to work independently and to coordinate small project teams to realise changes.

  • Flexibility in working hours when the job requires it.

  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.

Experience in managing and maintaining cleanrooms and environmental test facilities is considered a strong plus.

Strong preference

We have a strong preference for candidates who also bring:

  • Proficiency in Dutch, both spoken and written, in order to communicate effectively with local maintenance suppliers.

  • Dutch or EU citizenship, combined with the willingness to undergo a Security Screening for a Certificate of No Objection, VGB Level B, including the provision of all required declarations.
