ISISPACE
At ISISPACE, we develop small satellite missions that make a real impact. As Head of Mission Solutions & Engineering, you lead the engineering organization behind these missions and play a key role in shaping both technical delivery and team development. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong technical depth with the ability to build structure, guide teams, and keep complex engineering programs moving forward. You will lead a multidisciplinary department (+40 FTE) and work closely with teams across the organization to ensure our missions are robust, scalable, and successfully delivered. As a member of the Management Team, you report directly to the COO.
What you will do
In this role, you will be responsible for both the performance of the engineering department and the successful execution of satellite missions across their full lifecycle. Your main responsibilities include:
Leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering and PMO team (+50 FTE)
Defining and executing the engineering strategy in line with business goals.
Overseeing engineering execution from mission concept through launch and operations.
Driving systems engineering excellence across design, integration, verification and validation.
Overseeing technical quality, planning, budgets, risks and resource allocation.
From a Project & Portfolio Board perspective, you oversee readiness for all major technical reviews and key project milestones.
Together with the Engineering Team Leads and the PMO Lead, you ensure the engineering organization has the capabilities, structure, and talent required to support future growth. Strengthening collaboration with R&D, Production, Product Management and Quality.
Job requirements
What you bring
You are an experienced engineering leader who understands how to combine technical authority with people leadership. You know how to create clarity, make sound decisions, and help teams perform in a complex and fast-moving environment. We are looking for someone with:
A master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive leadership experience in the aerospace industry with a proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Strong knowledge of spacecraft or small satellite development.
Experience across the full mission lifecycle, from concept to in-orbit operations.
Familiarity with systems engineering processes, technical reviews, and industry standards such as ECSS and/or NASA.
Strong business mindset with the ability to lead and manage people effectively.
A strong sense of ownership, clearly understand your mandate, and confident in taking decisions within that scope to drive progress and results
Excellent cultural awareness and adaptability, combined with strong communication skills to thrive in an international environment.
