Job description
ISISPACE maintains its own Mission Operations Center in Delft and from there communicates with, and operates multiple satellites, using a mix of in-house and third-party software systems. On top of that, ISISPACE develops Ground Segment products ready to be deployed at customer locations. In this role you will work in a small and highly motivated team responsible for the software of the Ground Segment.
Our goal is to continue to improve the usability, scalability, reliability, and autonomy of the Ground Segment to support the operation of multiple satellites from multiple ground station locations. In this position you will work closely with system engineers, project managers, subsystem experts, satellite operators, and the sales team. Moreover, you will also receive a training in satellite operations.
Main responsibilities include:
Expand the functionality of the existing ground segment software, according to specific project needs and development roadmap.
Provide inputs on and help generate and realize concepts for automated ground segment and satellite operations.
Support all phases of mission operations by ensuring smooth functioning of the Ground Segment, including end-to-end testing and early operations.
Improve and expand interfacing of the ISISPACE systems with third-party solutions.
Support the deployment of Ground Segment products to customers.
Job requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
0-1 year of experience with relevant software development in Python and C++.
Experience with multi-platform software development (Windows, Linux).
Proficiency in the English language.
Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
Ability to switch between tasks and projects on a relatively short notice.
Bonus points if you bring:
Experience with version control and issue tracking systems.
Experience in signal processing, SDRs.
Experience with relational and time series databases.
Experience with Docker.
Experience with the Qt framework.
Experience with C and Java languages.
Experience with software messaging libraries, such as Protocol Buffers and AMQP.
Experience with computer and network administration.
Experience with satellite operational concepts.
Experience with RF hardware.
