Job description

Within the TANGO project, ISISPACE is responsible for the overall mission implementation, the development of the satellite platforms, the daily operations of the mission, and the delivery of scientific data as a service to ESA. Therefore, a TANGO ground segment (GS) needs to be developed that comprises all systems to support the operations preparation activities, the satellite operations themselves and all post–operational activities. As GS Architect you lead the design, development and realization of the TANGO GS.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Analyze mission requirements and constraints, derive requirements for the ground segment.

  • Perform Ground Segment elements (MOC, PDGS, Ground Station) requirements flow-down and interface requirements definition.

  • Consult and interface with all relevant stakeholders (operations, system, IVV (Integration, Verification, Validation).

  • Define the ground segment architecture needed for the TANGO objectives (science needs, operations, etc ..).

  • Define the Ground Segment Validation Plan for TANGO to cover the overall test, coordinating with the relevant stakeholders.

  • Drive the trade-offs on the Ground Segment software solutions.

  • Specify and follow the integration, verification and validation associated with the ground segment and end to end testing, including the satellites.

Job requirements

  • A degree in a relevant subject.

  • Minimal 5 years of experience in a relevant role.

  • Proven experience in ground segment definition and design for a satellite project.

  • Must have experience in project management related to ground segment development.

  • Previous experience on software projects related to ground segment development.

  • Experience in writing IVV plans and test needs.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional and international teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard mission planning and project management tools.
