Embedded Firmware Engineer - Medior

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer in the Power Systems product line, you will update the embedded software for our existing satellite power systems. You will be responsible for modernization of firmware on STM32 microcontrollers, covering drivers, communication, safety logic, and application code.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include:

• Maintain and improve embedded software for legacy products, including implementing updates, resolving defects and refactoring existing code.

• Review, structure and document existing code and software architectures to ensure long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer.

• Investigate technical issues and provide software-related support to customers when required.

• Coordinate with engineering, product management and other internal stakeholders to align priorities and communicate technical impacts.

• Develop clean, maintainable and well-documented solutions using Python and C++, with Git for version control.

• Work systematically to analyse complex problems, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or other relevant topic.

• 2+ years experience with coding languages (Python, C++), version control (Git), and solid understanding of software architectures.

• Ability to break down complex problems, propose solutions and think clearly under pressure.

• Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, give and receive technical feedback.

• Writing clean, maintainable and well‑documented code.

• Structured way of working and strong ability to learn continuously.

Nice to haves

• Experience with power systems, battery management systems, or safety-critical applications.

• Experience with unit testing for embedded systems.

• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards.

• Experience with script based automated production testing using Python.

• Hands-on experience with embedded hardware testing.

• Experience with MSP430 family of processors.
