In a fast-growing nanosatellite market, ISISPACE offers a broad portfolio of miniaturized components and subsystems that are used in our own satellite missions and sold as standalone products to customers globally, for a wide variety of applications from testing out new technologies or concepts in space, to atmospheric and climate monitoring, Internet of Things, ship tracking or air traffic monitoring, agricultural mapping and deep space research.
You will be working in the Mission Solutions & Engineering department (MS&E). Together with your colleagues you will work on design and verification activities for electronic systems within our spacecraft.
Your main responsibilities:
Within the MS&E department, you will be the go-to person for Electrical/Electronics engineering support in testing and trouble-shooting for an extensive line of satellite subsystems.
You will be participating in anomaly reviews for Electrical/Electronics-related issues during the integration phase of a satellite mission, as well as issues experienced in-orbit.
You will be responsible for the electrical design, development, and testing of mission-specific, customised PCBs occasionally required for our satellite missions.
You will be acting as a liaison between the MS&E and other departments (Production, R&D, Sales), where it comes to supporting with Electrical/Electronics-related issues in production, requirements definition/reviews and design reviews of new (sub)systems, as well as issues requiring after-sales support.
You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation (incl. Electronics CAD files) of subsystems under the responsibility of MS&E.
Job requirements
Education in Electrical/Electronics engineering (e.g., BEng, BSc, or MSc); or equivalent educational / practical background.
Demonstrable experience of designing & trouble-shooting complex electronic systems to a high standard.
Thorough understanding of digital electronics and high-speed PCB layout techniques.
Competency with electronic CAD software (Altium, KiCAD or others).
Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and logic analysers.
Excellent and straightforward communication skills, in English (verbal and in writing).
Recommended / Nice to Have:
Practical experience in a combined development and small series production environment.
Experience working with IPC standards, for example IPC-2221C.
Familiarity with commonly used protocols: CAN, RS-422, SpaceWire.
Familiarity with Microcontrollers and/or FPGAs.
Familiarity with EMC requirements and design practices.
Practical experience with Python, C/C++ and/or scripting.
Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) considerations.
Familiarity with ECSS standards, for example ECSS-Q-ST-30-11C for derating.
