Job description
In the fast-growing small satellite market, we are looking for a launch manager to strengthen the Launch Equipment & Services department. This team is focused on the development of launch equipment as deployment systems and sequencers, and provide small spacecraft launch opportunities by offering rideshare options. Since 2007 ISISPACE has been carrying out numerous successful launch campaigns for small satellites around the globe.
You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end planning, execution, and management of satellite launch projects with a strong emphasis on customer engagement, account management, and commercial negotiations. This role requires a combination of technical project management, sales expertise, and business development to drive successful launch missions while maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.
Specific tasks and responsibilities include:
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing relationships and ensuring their needs are met throughout the mission lifecycle.
Lead the entire mission lifecycle from initial planning to post-launch analysis for satellite missions.
Develop and manage detailed mission plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with engineering, operations, and external partners (e.g., launch providers, satellite manufacturers).
Prepare and lead bid processes, write proposals, and engage in contract negotiations with clients and partners.
Ensure all pre-launch activities are completed on time, including satellite readiness, launch vehicle integration, and regulatory compliance.
Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies and proactively address potential challenges.
Organize and optionally attend launch integration campaigns. Occasional international traveling is expected (3 – 4 times/year).
Monitor and analyze mission performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement in future missions.
Report regularly to senior leadership on mission progress and work closely with launch mission managers on joint missions.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting satellite launch operations.
Job requirements
A degree in a relevant subject.
Proven experience in a managerial role within the aerospace industry, preferably in satellite launches or space missions.
Strong account management and customer relationship skills, with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
Experience in writing proposals, leading bids, and conducting commercial negotiations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional and international teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Familiarity with industry-standard mission planning and project management tools.
Preferred experience
5+ years of experience in space mission management.
Strong understanding of satellite technologies, and launch vehicle systems.
Experience with regulatory compliance for satellite missions, including ITU filings and licensing.
Background in working with satellite manufacturers, launch service providers, and regulatory agencies.
Experience with satellite integration, testing, and launch vehicle coordination.
